KEEP OF KALESSIN Apologizes For Tour Cancellation

May 7, 2007

Norwegian black metallers KEEP OF KALESSIN have commented on the cancellation of their "Excess of Evil" European tour — which was also scheduled to feature MARDUK, ENSLAVED, GOATWHORE, MELECHESH and PANTHEON I.

In a posting on the group's web site, KEEP OF KALESSIN guitarist Obsidian C. writes, "It sucks! And we know it! We were really looking forward to doing this tour and we have tried to contact everyone involved to see if it was possible to do it, but we don't have any influence over this decision. If it was up to us we'd do the entire tour for free because we were so eager to get out on the road again and see our growing fanbase throughout Europe. Hopefully there will be a new opportunity in the near future.

"On behalf of KEEP OF KALESSIN I'm really sorry for the fans that were looking forward to the shows. As a poor kind of comfort we hope that you enjoy the new video for 'Crown of the Kings' that will be posted on this site in a couple of days!"

KEEP OF KALESSIN recently completed work on the "Crown of the Kings" video with Christian Falch of GammaGlimt. The clip reportedly consists of footage from over 30 shows throughout Europe in 2006. A new video for "Winged Watcher" will also be filmed during the last week of May. This clip will be shot in the unique environment at the wastelands of Røros, known from UNESSO's World Heritage List.

KEEP OF KALESSIN performed a one-time, unique show with the duo MONOLITHIC on September 1 at the Trondheim Jazzfestival. The performance was previously described as "a concert where extreme metal meets jazz at an insanely high tempo."

KEEP OF KALESSIN's latest album, "Armada", entered the Norwegian national album chart at position No. 20 upon its release last year.
